Power System

August Berres introduces integrated battery power. Now you can power all your office equipment without concerns about your wiring layout.

Our C-power units are a basic way we energize many of our products using portable power. Our C-power units include commercial-grade 240Wh Lithium-Ion batteries as well as two USB-C receptacles in a user-friendly carry case.

C-power include two USB-C receptacles and a 200Wh battery neatly packaged into a compact carry case.

POWER SUPPLY

Each power supply in our charging products can charge three batteries.

Full System Integration

Compatible docking systems are incorporated into Respond! consoles and desks, replaE products, and charging products. Our vision is to have power available at any place someone might choose to work.

The docking system allows users to move the C-power in a matter of seconds. There are no wire connections necessary to engage it in a console or on a charging station.

Computer Compatibility

Most users with a 2019 or newer laptop, using USB-C connections, will find the capacity to be adequate for all-day use. Users with laptops will find C-power to be a useful companion product. If the battery in the laptop is depleted, C-power will act to charge the battery. If the C-power is depleted, a user can make a swap without having to shut down their laptop.

Anywhere in the World

The power supply units integrated into the charging products operate with input voltages that range from 100V to 240VAC. This makes them compatible with any AC power grid anywhere in the world. The only modification necessary to adapt is a change in the input power cord, a simple swap into the IEC connector incorporated into the charging products.

Portability

Cpower is portable. It does not need to be in a docking system to function. It can travel with a user to an outdoor work area, a coffee shop, or a meeting. Padded corners enable you to conveniently place it on any of three sides or in an upright position.

Balanced Design

The product strikes the right balance between capacity, size, and weight. Because it uses proven 18650 cell Lithium-ion technology, the weight-to-capacity ratio is exceptionally low, about 68 gross Watt-hours per pound. The overall weight is 3.5 pounds. The size is 13 13/16” L x 2 3/8” W x 3 9/16” H.

Adapting to Users

Power requirements vary by user. As a starting point in your facility design, we recommend that you specify 24 C-power units (the capacity of one charging cart) per 18 user workstations. Certain facility situations may require different quantities depending on the power requirements of your workstation computer equipment.

Strategic Investment

A commitment to battery-powered workstations can be part of a strategic plan for facility power. You can comprehensively implement DC power in a facility from behind-the-meter wind or solar generation to user workstations.

We have an extensive product line that complements the charging system. Workplace designers can package battery power into products made by third parties such as conference tables, reception stations, and dining tables. Importantly, a facility can commit to a single approach to battery power without having to purchase and maintain docking and charging systems from multiple suppliers.

We can do More

Contact us if you have unique requirements. We may be able to provide special products, assist with your specification of power components, or suggest alternative approaches to an issue.

Compatible inverters are available if you wish to have 120V power. We also offer power supplies with 120V connection if you wish to charge a battery without removing it from a product. The entire product line is modular and multiple types of components can be chained together. Contact us if you have any of these needs.

Simple Recharging

August Berres features four products for charging batteries in the line. Our line includes charging carts that plug into a single 20 Amp circuit. You can charge 12 or 24 fully depleted batteries overnight. Also in the line is a 3-place desktop charging unit and a roll-out shelf design that can be incorporated into cabinets.

All are designed with our robust charging design. The charging systems operate in a way that enables users to swap batteries without technical support. No tools are required.

Power Efficiency

High-efficiency power supplies are part of the design for the charging products. They achieve 92% efficiency when converting 120V AC power to 30V DC power.

Improved Housekeeping

Because a fully integrated battery power system requires no external power sources, there is no need for extension cords and cable clutter on the floor of any Respond! facility. Cleaning crews can maintain clean floors.

Safety and Operational Considerations

Cpower has an onboard device management control system. The control system displays the charging status. It has on/off capabilities that allow you to preserve power. It also has internal sensors to detect anomalies in operation and shut down if necessary. The system is programmed to charge the battery to 90% and deplete to 10% so that the life of the battery is extended 3-6 times as compared to a full-depletion, full-charge system.

Since it is based on Lithium-ion technology, special packaging, and shipping procedures are necessary. When you order the Cpower, it will be shipped separately from other items.
