Important Safety Considerations

What you see when the power control system detects an anomaly.

The Respond! power control system is engineered with important, best-effort safeguards to avoid issues that might damage your battery or your devices.

If you see a single continuous red light in this position,

The control system has detected a device that is trying to draw too much power. It could be a connected device, a sit-stand mechanism, or a damaged USB cable that has developed a short circuit.

Once you disconnect the offending device or cable, you can reset the battery controls by simply depressing the orange button as you would on startup. This will clear the light and allow you to continue to use the battery.

If you see two continuous red lights in these positions,

the charging temperature is out of range, either less than 10 degrees C or more than 45 degrees C.

Once the battery is within an acceptable temperature range, the system will clear the light without any assistance and you can return to charging the battery.

If you see three continuous red lights in these positions,

the discharging temperature is out of range, either less than -20 degrees C or more than 60 degrees C.

Once the battery is within an acceptable temperature range, the system will clear the light without any assistance and you can return to discharging the battery.
