Wood Components

Sustainability, Beauty, and Strength

Respond! introduces direct-printed woodgrains—a process that enables a completely new and sustainable approach to furniture woodgrain design. For Beauty, we book-match our woodgrains. For strength, we only use premium medium density fiberboard from sustainably grown forests.

An Exciting New Approach to Woodgrain Design

Respond! uses a unique process to create book-matched woodgrains. They are directly printed on the top of Respond! console and table surfaces-a sustainable way to create an elegant appearnce.,

The bottom and edges of our wood-grained components are finished with a solid color from the same color family. Over the woodgrain, an additional clear coat is added for durability.

Until now, book matching was an expensive process used only in high-end products. And it is a technique that cannot be replicated with traditional printed laminates.

To develop our woodgrains, we started with logs at a sawmill.

Our Woodgrain finishes include unique specification choices. You can select grain and color families as separate attributes.

We said “NO”

No PVA glues, no phenolic resins, no hot-melts, no gaps, no mismatched edges, no see-through, no pattern repeats, and no offset planked designs.

If there are no laminates, there is no delamination.

MDF Enables User-Friendly Contoured Shapes

MDF is a homogenous material, unlike particleboard which is manufactured with fine particles only on the surface and coarse particles in the center.  Consequently, MDF is the superior material for creating machined edges and contoured shapes.

High Strength

The structural properties of the MDF used in Respond! are more than 25% higher than some comparable MDF and particleboard products. Importantly, this reduces the deflection in worksurfaces and improves the face screw holding power necessary for rigid and durable assembly.

No Added Formaldehyde

There is no added formaldehyde in the manufacturing process and the fiberboard meets every important environmental and sustainability certification. All Respond! wood components can be recycled at the end of the life of the product.

Low Carbon Footprint

According to one study, Respond! wood components have a Carbon Footprint that is four times less than high-pressure laminates and PVC edge banding.

Cleaning

Test any surface to be cleaned and disinfected in an inconspicuous area first before proceeding.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Unlike spray paint, powder coating is much more resistant to things like rust, corrosion, peeling, and fading. However, that resistance does not mean it is wise to use chemical cleaners and solvents to clean powder-coated items. Harsh cleaners and solvents like acetone can damage the powder coating. Do not use any abrasive or acidic cleaning solutions, including lye or rust remover.

Clean Gently

You can wipe off dust with a soft cloth. To clean, use a pump spray bottle, apply a normal amount of cleaner to a clean microfiber or paper towel. Promptly wipe the desired area until dry. Do not spray directly on a surface or let the cleaner sit un-wiped for an extended period.

Tested and Verified Cleaners

Warm Mild-Soap and Warm Water

Windex Multi-Surface Disinfectant

Windex All-Purpose Cleaner

Any cleaner not listed above should be applied to a non-visible area before use on the entire surface. Any adverse effects, such as discoloration, etc. will become evident.

Bleach Cleaning

To reduce the threat from viruses, you can also use a 10:1 ratio of bleach to water or a 70% isopropyl alcohol + water dilute. Rinse with water, then dry with another soft towel. It is crucial to ensure that cleaners are diluted according to instructions.

If there is a residue from bleach or if more cleaning is necessary, use a highly diluted, mild soap in water and a soft towel or soft sponge to very gently clean.
