Once Again—Energy Usage Down, Prices Down, Functionality Up

We like 21:9 Aspect Ratio Monitors

Why?

As a user, you get extra screen space without the monitor growing to a height that requires you to tile your head back to view content at the top of the monitor. Tilting your head can lead to upper back and neck issues plus fatigue. From an ergonomics perspective, it is unwise to position the top of the monitor above your eye level.

Properly setting your sitting and standing preferences in our Console Desk controls helps. However, for some, the consequent required keyboard position is too low when using a large monitor.

This monitor seems like one we should suggest

Shown below is an LG 29WQ600-W. It is a 29” class monitor with a typical power usage of 22W, which compares to a similar model we reviewed just a few months ago that used 30W.

The item we previously reviewed was priced at $399.99. This one is $174.99.

As you might recall, monitors are the items that typically consume the most power in your workstation. Many laptops now use less than 10W. Since our battery system, fully charged, has about 200 Watt-Hours of power, this monitor and a 10W laptop could easily function for six hours of operation without swapping the battery.
